Each team is guaranteed seven rounds of competition during the season.
Each team will have five matches against conference opponents (ensuring a round-robin within the conferences). Beginning the fourth week of the season, each team will have one cross-conference match selected at random.
The final week of the season will feature the last cross-conference match, with seeding based on a team’s conference standing (for example, the 1 seed from one conference will play the 6 seed from the other conference).
Based on the overall win/loss record, the top two teams from each conference will advance to the playoffs (like a typical sports league).
